Michael Hakoun, CEPA

Executive Vice President & Managing Director

Michael Hakoun is the Executive Vice President & Managing Director of Ledyard Financial Advisors, with over two decades of experience in the investment management and banking industry. Michael’s extensive wealth management and retail banking experience perfectly complements Ledyard’s strategic goals and passion for developing long-term client relationships.
 
Prior to joining Ledyard, Michael led a five-state team located in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island supporting 230 branches for TD Bank. The comprehensive team included Wealth Strategists, Investment Advisors, Trust Advisors, Wealth Lending Specialists, Private Client Relationship Managers and Client Services. Prior to leading that team, Michael worked in Canada where he led a Call Center for TD Ameritrade in London, Ontario. He also worked in Toronto, Ontario, leading the Customer & Employee Experience Strategy groups across the North American Call Centers, which included Wealth Direct Investing & the Wealth Advice Center. Additionally, Michael has Retail Banking experience with TD, as a prior Retail Regional Manager in the Greater Concord - Lakes area of NH. Prior to joining TD, he worked with Citibank & Guardian Life Insurance.
 
Michael graduated from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business in Ontario, Canada with a Master of Business Administration. Michael has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta and also holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 65, 24 licenses.  

Michael earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive executive MBA-style program.
 
He serves on the board of Mount Zion Christian Schools, coaches recreational softball teams for his daughters, and teaches students at his local church.

Mark provides accounting and consulting services to a diverse client base, and leads the firm’s Business Valuation and Litigation Support services team. In public accounting, Mark provides services to a variety of industries including, but not limited to manufacturing, retail, distribution, food, construction and service organizations. Mark’s varied business experience provides him with the ability to understand the various requirements of clients and to provide value-added services whether it involves accounting, business valuation or other business consulting matters, such as mergers and acquisitions.

Mark earned his Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive CEPA five-day executive MBA-style program in Chicago. He joins an elite group of business advisors who have received this designation. The program was specifically designed for business advisors who work closely with owners of privately held companies.

Mark is a graduate of the Graduate School of Professional Accounting Program at Northeastern University, where he received his Master’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Vermont. In addition, he has obtained further specialized certifications from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), National Association of Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) and the Exit Planning Institute (EPI).

Chris is a founding partner of Focus Acquisition Partners. He is responsible for working with a broad array of clients who have an interest in financial services, manufacturing, distribution and business services in North America.
He is a veteran entrepreneur and a former commercial banker. During his career Chris has owned and successfully grown a series of middle market manufacturing and business services companies. He was a founder of the Flagship Bank (Worcester, MA) and he is an active private investor. Drawing upon this broad and diverse background he has held senior leadership positions for over 25 years.
He is the former president and CEO of SciTech Plastics Group, LLC, a $60 million vertically integrated manufacturer of medical and commercial devices which he successfully sold and is now part of Vaupell Plastics. Prior to that, he was the founder and owner of the Brookfield Group, which he transformed from a single facility into a precision manufacturing firm with locations throughout New England. Chris also served as the COO of Nanlo Publishing, a regional community newspaper printing and publishing firm, and also was a Senior Vice President at Shawmut Bank, a multi-billion dollar bank holding company.
Chris is a graduate of Boston University with a BA and a graduate of the Stonier School of Graduate Banking. Chris holds two patents for flexible, medical dispensing devices, is a published author, and an active community volunteer. He is married and enjoys running, mountain biking and skiing.

Marian is no stranger to transition as she has navigated the complex challenges of corporate leadership, helping break through boundaries of chaos and disruption amidst ongoing change and uncertainty. With an expertise in developing leaders, uniting teams, and energizing culture, she has worked with a diverse group of global clients across many industries, unleashing potential that transcends boundaries. She completed the rigorous credentialing program and is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. She now helps others make progress towards their own vision.
Marian serves corporate leaders and executives who are challenged by their own transition within their current career progression, on the cusp of leaving the workforce, or already retired. Those who seek out Marian find a competent and caring partner to help them develop the mental fitness needed to step into new possibilities.
With a master’s degree from Indiana University, Marian serves as a Core Group Coach for Chief, a private membership network focused on connecting and supporting female executive leaders, as a Mentor Coach to other coaches, and an instructor and consultant at Rutgers University. 
Ledyard Chief Lending Officer
Kimberly Lebron joined Ledyard in 2023 as the Chief Lending Officer. Kim brings with her over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, having most recently served at Thomaston Savings Bank, where she held various lending-related positions since 2003. Her roles at Thomaston Savings Bank included Senior Credit Analyst, Credit Manager, Chief Lending Officer and most recently, Chief Credit Officer. Beyond her professional achievements, Kim is a distinguished veteran who served in the United States Army from 1984 to 1990. Kim is a graduate of Post University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. She also completed a two-year executive education program from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Philadelphia.

Ledyard Strategy and Business Succession Planning Director 
Susan Renaud joined Ledyard Financial Advisors in June of 2015 and has 25 years of finance, operations and consulting experience in New England and Europe. Prior to joining Ledyard, she was an independent CFO consultant working with small businesses. Susan has enjoyed a wide and varied career having previously served as Director of Strategic Integration with Dartmouth-Hitchcock, CFO at King Arthur Flour, Mergers and Acquisitions consultant with PwC London and held various roles at Ben & Jerry’s in Vermont, London and Paris.

Susan earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive executive MBA-style program. Susan is a Certified Financial Professional and a Certified Public Accountant.

Bryan is Managing Partner at Venture 7 Advisors, a merger and acquisition advisory firm which he co-founded in 2016. Venture 7 helps business owners to exit successfully.
Prior to launching Venture 7 Advisors, Bryan founded, sold and acquired several of his own companies in information technology, management consulting and construction. Bryan has held executive leadership positions and served on boards of directors and advisory boards in a wide range of industries including industrial sensors, wastewater treatment, eCommerce, business consulting and firearms manufacturing.

Steve Cohen has spent 43 years as an M&A and business planning attorney in the northern New England based law firm of Devine Millimet and Branch with offices in Manchester, Concord and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Steve chairs the Firm’s 16 attorney Mergers and Acquisitions Team and is integrally involved in 25-30 M&A transactions annually.
